Tinted handmade paper and a flow of forms. Vaishali’s representation of bottles and women through a liquid medium once again throws light upon her soft disposition. Seeking inspiration through nature, she allows self determined forms to flow across her handmade paper canvas. As though she 'grants' freedom of movement to her medium, it’s evident that she has thoroughly enjoyed herself on this project. But what separates an artist from a frivolous and native child, is the awareness of movement and creation the artist has developed through years of dedicated practice. The forms are broken, and disjointed, while some find a merging confluence and yet, retain their identity. She expresses a habitually cultivated tendency in the human eye to recognize forms. Forms are all we know and recognize. Her subject in terms of women and bottles share commonalities of forms, remarks Vaishali. The layers are so subtle that one almost misses it, retaining an erroneous experience of flat imagery. But a closer look would reveal the artists eye. A patient thought would unconceal the feminine. -Tanushree Biswas |
